One-quarter of college grads still hunting for work

Over a quarter of college graduates were still hunting for jobs in June, a new study finds.

The number of college graduates will be about 8.74 million this year and it's estimated that about 5.9 million of them will be employed in market-oriented organizations, according to job recruitment website zhaopin.com.

Over the past year, the number of job posts on the recruitment platform for college students decreased by 7.1 percent, while the number of graduates submitting resumes jumped by 35.2 percent.

Over 26 percent of college students were still looking for jobs as of June, zhaopin.com found.

Labor demand among state-owned enterprises has recently risen against the general trend, but has failed to offset declining demand from private enterprises and foreign companies.

Meanwhile, positions in large enterprises have grown steadily, but the recruitment demands of small and medium-sized enterprises have dropped significantly.
